Work hard.Study harder.Love the most.
By love, I mean for my friends, for my family, for my passion in CLC, and above all, for God.
We are the Ateneo Christian Life Community (ACLC), a community of Ateneans belonging to the Faith Formation Cluster of the Council of the Organizations of the Ateneo. As part of our commitment to living out a Way of Life rooted in the spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola, we engage in a three-fold formation program involving regular activities such as prayer sessions, annual retreats, and visits to communities we cater to in Payatas.
Every year, we try to spread the good news of the Birth of our Lord by caroling in the homes of our friends and families. We would like to solicit your support for this caroling fundraiser by allowing us to sing for you this Yuletide season. Like warmth in the cool December air, we hope to spread even the smallest bit of hope and joy amidst much of the despair that continues to plague our country, through our repertoire of traditional and contemporary carols.
The ACLC carolers are still students, so we prefer singing for you on weekends. We have allotted the following dates for caroling: November 28, 29, 30; December 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, and 22.
Should you be interested to have us carol at your house, you may contact Genevieve Lim at 0917-8485212 or email her at genlim_24[at]yahoo.com with your name, address and preferred date for caroling.
We sincerely look forward to celebrating this joyous season of Christmas with you and your family. Thank you very much!

yun lang. God bless :D
PS.
FAT SABLAN! since bawal ako magcommunicate on oct 13, advanced happy birthday!
This was shown during in the last part of the ACLC Guides' Workshop a while ago. Amazing job sa guides' workshop, ate tinnah! good job din to the LC and others who organized. Beautiful poem, essay or whatever. Napaisip lang ako kanina nung patapos na yung workshop... na minsan it's sad that people tend to automatically respond to friends who're pouring out problems or concerns by giving advice or telling them that they shouldn't feel that way, or even though all we want is someone to listen to us. Giving advice is good, pero there are times that all we ask is for a friend to listen to us.
I dunno who dorothy dix is, and spock yata yung tao sa... star trek? though i like the rest of the poem.
When I ask you to listen to me and you start giving advice you have not done what I asked.
When I ask you to listen to me and you begin to tell me why I shouldn't feel that way, you are trampling on my feelings.
When I ask you to listen to me and you feel you have to do something to solve my problems, you have failed me, strange as that may seem.
LISTEN! All I ask is that you listen. Not talk or do - just hear me.
Advice is cheap: 50 cents will get you Dorothy Dix and Dr. Spock in the same newspaper.
And I can DO for myself; I'm not helpless. Maybe discouraged and faltering, but not helpless.
When you do something for me that I can and need to do for myself, you contribute to my fear and weakness.
But when you accept as a simple fact that I do feel what I feel, no matter how irrational, then I quit trying to convince you and can get about the business of understanding what's behind this irrational feeling. And when that's clear; the answers are obvious and I don't need advice.
So, please listen and just hear me, and if you want to talk, wait a minute for your turn; and I'll listen to you.
ang dami yata mali. i dunno. mukang puro mali yung about sa #3. except sa inner dream part, i do dream of being musically talented :D

—IF YOU BELIEVE THAT HOMOPHOBIA IS WRONG … REPOST THIS ON YOUR BLOG
I have been obliged to repost this (by BONG[again. haha]) so here goes:
Leave a comment and I'll reply by doing the following: 1. I'll respond with something random about you. 2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you. 3. I'll tell you the very next person/place/event I think of when I think of you. 4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me. 5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory/ impression of you. 6. I'll tell you what ice cream flavor best represents you. 7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
If I do this for you, you HAVE TO post this on your journal :)
tagged by Bong, so I'm doing this :P Bong, sorry ngayon lang. medyo busy at nakalimutan ko rin XD haha
Rule: Name five of the Best Nights of your Life and then tag four people.
The following are in no particular order, and they're just five of the many great nights in my life. :D
1. XS Days With The Lord I love this retreat. Best retreat in the world. It changed my life in many aspects, and mas lalo pa after the other Days events that followed. Umm, I can't divulge any more information kasi bawal malaman ng non dazers, baka maspoil. hehe
2. YCLC Overnights Community nights, apostolate nights, and vigil night (isa lang napuntahan ko), plus yung annual Youth Assemblies. This was one of the reasons why i joined in the first place. Yung barkada ko dati sabi ng friend ko sali daw kami kasi fun yung mga overnights. Pati hanggang ngayon kahit alumnus na ko, I still go. XD waha! Pinakarecent na napuntahan ko is the formation camp, which is now overnight. I'll never forget the three YCLC Regional/Youth Assemblies i have gone to, the last one nagfacilitate na ko since wala na yung "Y" sa pagiging CLCer ko. wahaha! Ang sarap maexperience yung CLC way of life in these activities.
3. YCLC RCG Caroling '04 TJ invited me and Bong na sumama sa caroling ng YCLC RCG (xavier, ica, miriam and ateneo YCLCs) kasi baka kulang daw sa xavier, kahit hindi kami members ng YCLC that time. The night wasn't that wow, it's just that this night is when i returned to CLC, kahit unofficially. Di ko na matandaan if i left YCLC nung end of 2nd year or i didn't recommit, tapos i wasn't accepted when i joined nung 3rd year. This event was the start of God's pulling me back to Him in CLC :D
[wala ako pic eh :|]
4. Overnights with Friends This includes Subication I & II with 4B '06, overnight with S1 blockmates, and other overnights with friends. I love overnights, halos walang tulugan yet super saya. Lalo na yung subication kasama yung 4B '06, and Bro Jhaw (nung 05) and Mendy (nung 06), game ako for subication 3! Di ko rin makakalimutan yung overnight sa discovery suites hotel with a couple of friends. And yung pinakarecent, yung pagovernight ng blockmates ko sa bahay ko. :D Fun sobra
5. ACLC Overnights (Retreat and EvSem) Sobrang heartfelt lang talaga ang events na ito. The 5 day ACLC silent retreat is a life changing intimate time with God. Dito talaga mararamdaman ang kagandahan ng spirituality ng CLC. Favorite kong type of elections yung sa EvSem, kasi talagang pinagdidiscern personally and communally(may word ba na ganun), at siguradong according to God's plan ang results. Kung ganito rin magelections yung Pilipinas, baka wala na corruption, haha kaso lang baka never matapos. And I just love the ROL activity sa EvSem, one of the best activities for the community aspect.

Knocking on Heaven’s Door
It sucks how life has been
constantly reminding me of our futile mortality.
Last December of 2006, it was
caroling season for my organization, the Ateneo Christian Life Community
(ACLC).It seemed like a typical
caroling night, although the area we sang our hearts out on that night was
located at Alabang, far from our territory. After three houses, we called it a
night, and I was assigned as the driver of one of the transportations home. Daanghari Avenue,
somewhere in Alabang, to me looked like a highway that goes straight, and I was
speeding at around 80kph. Oh God, there was a curb, and a truck going the other
way. It was too dark for me to notice. Out of instinct, I tried to turn while
stepping on the breaks, and to no avail, it was disastrous. My crosswind
literally flipped and tumbled, 810 degrees to be exact. Rolled twice (720
degrees) then landed left side up. Until now, the scene still haunts me: the
passengers, whom I love, were screaming, the windshield was shattering right in
front of me and the sickening feel of being inside a tumbling car was
unbearable. After all the chaos, we were rushed into the hospital, AlabangMedicalCenter,
and the ones confined, two friends and I, stayed for two nights and two days.
For the first time in my life, I
escaped death. Rather, God saved us from it, that’s what I always tell people
about the fateful accident. Imagine, the car tumbled a huge 810 degrees, who
wouldn’t think that there were major injuries or even fatalities? There were
but a few minor injuries. We were proclaiming the joy of His birth that day,
and so He saved our lives, yet again.
A week after my dreadful accident,
another catastrophe happened. Somewhere in CorinthianGardens,
the house of my friend and Xavier batchmate, Howell Yao, caught in flames due
to faulty Christmas lights. Howell, with his younger brother, and his mother
didn’t make it. This was very big blow to his family and the Xavier community,
including me. Losing three family members in one crash is very, very painful. I
can’t imagine the excruciating emotional trauma for their loved ones.
The importance of life has been clear
to me ever since my accident, and the realization hit me even much more after
what happened to Howell.
Many other friends and Xavier
batchmates had too reflected on this after what happened to Howell. One of them
was Thomas O, he wrote a reflection paper emphasizing on the importance of life,
and how we should value it together with the loved ones we have; his message is
something I can totally relate to and agree with. About a month and a half
after the very unpleasant incident on Howell, Thomas got shot by burglars who
intruded his house, it was another extremely big shock and very painful trauma.
As if these weren’t enough, another
Xaverian batchmate, Justin Ong, died in a car crash about a month later. It was
on the news, he was on the way home with friends from a party. A taxi cut right
in front of them, and almost similar to what happened to me, they tumbled and
hit a tree. Justin shielded the girl beside him, and he saved her life while
sacrificing his own. He died a hero.
All these casualties happened within
just three months, and picture how much these three traumatic months have
changed the lives of family, friends, and batchmates, including myself. The
point of life being very important has already been stressed on me a
hundredfold, even more after what happened to Justin because what happened to
him was almost very similar to what happened to me, like so, without a doubt, I
feel very blessed indeed. Life is so unpredictable, it can be taken from you so
easily by a fire, a gunshot, a crash, and in so many other ways. The cliché-ish
old sayings that “we should live life to the fullest, make the most out of
everything, and love everyone you love,” became so personal and significant to
me. Right now, I just want to be a good companion to my friends, and especially
a loving son to my family. I admit that my relationship with my family isn’t
commendable, in particular with my dad, and it’s about time that I really give
him the respect that he deserves. Especially now that he just suffered from a
stroke a year ago. Last night I told a friend, who’s close to me, that he’s
very important to me and I love him as a friend. Right now, I guess I want the
people I love to feel that they really are valuable to me, before something
happens to me again. Plus, I feel the need to get rid of any possible grudges.
I have never liked keeping grudges, and now, I just want to promise that to
myself even more. Right now, I just want to do sincerely everything that I love
doing, and finally take my studies seriously. Trust me, it’s important to live
life fully as if every day is your last.
Last night, I just came from the
wake for Justin Ong. I’d like to quote Fr. Johnny Go, Xavier School Director,
in what he said about death in the Mass’ homily. (I forgot the exact words so
I’ll just mention it in my own words.) Death is something very hard to
understand, and it’s inevitable, especially for the loved ones, to question
God. Instead, we can just get this pain, wrap it around with prayers, and offer
it to God. Accordingly, we could see how much He’s always, and forever will be
there for us.
Maneater, make you work hard Make you spend hard Make you want all, of her love She's a maneater make you buy cars make you cut cords make you fall, real hard in love She's a Maneater, make you work hard Make you spend hard Make you want all, of her love She's a maneater make you buy cars make you cut cords Wish you never ever met her at all! (Maneater by Nelly Furtado)
What's my point in posting these lyrics? No, it's not that I enjoy slutty songs.
I somewhat have a negative feeling towards crushes, relationships, and the like. Not only because of the painful experiences (p.a.s.t.: pain and shitty things, as greg says :P) i have/had, but also because of what i'll mention in this entry. I used to call myself being anti relationship but for second thought, I'm not really that kind of person. Am I making sense? Haha...
Here's a pool of questions in my head that could probably express how i feel: Whenever people have crushes, they tend to become so nice, generous, loving, etc. to that special person. Why can't we be like that to other people or to our friends? (i.e. being nice, caring, generous, helpful, etc.) Sure, maybe that's why he/she is called a special person. But does being too concentrated on one person ruin the balance of your relationships/friendships with other people in your life? Maybe so. I'm not sure, but I did read somewhere that if your other relationships with your friends/family get affected or get worse, than what you're experiencing is so not true love. Also, if what you're feeling or if what's going on in your relationship is destroying you or hurting you/others, are you sure what you're doing is right?
I did mention that I'm not really the anti-relationship kind of person. It's a fact that I truly value the relationships i have in my life: friends, family, and God.
It's just that... i dunno. The human emotion is so complicated. Maybe i was getting unreasonable earlier.
Sana walang natamaan. I don't mean to hurt anyone with this entry, I just felt like letting this out.
Maybe it's because that's what I feel on how much my own emotions are taking too much control of myself. Or at least a part of how i feel.
